Veterinarian & Practice Owner
Dr Susan Bilbow has been one of our resident veterinarians since 2012.
She purchased the clinic in 2013 with her husband Aaron, after the birth of their youngest child. Together they have seen the clinic grow from a mixed practice to the current Small Animal Hospital that it is today.
Susan and Aaron are ruled by 2 dogs (Raven and Pearl).

Client Relations
I joined the team at Pinjarra Veterinary Hospital early 2022. As my first time working with animals I have found the most rewarding part of my job is getting to see such a variety of pets come into the clinic and spoil them with treats and cuddles. At home my house is ruled by two Bengal cats, Zac (18 yo) and Lara (17 yo), and two labrador-mixes, Maddo (13 yo) and Deegan (4 months).

What is the most exciting / rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is thinking outside the box to help solve or make better a problem for our clients and their pets. Especially when it comes to training and behaviour. Exploring lots of my product knowledge and providing as much information as i can that i have collected over the years, Helping our clients and patients to the best of my abilities in all ways possible.
What pets do you have:
Halco - English Staffordshire Bull Terrier - 5 years old
Layla - Australian Kelpie - 10 months old
Who inspires you?
My patients inspire me to give them the best care that I can. Also everyone who I have met along the way of my journey, giving me the time to teach and help me learn into the nurse I am today inspire me.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
I have completed certificates in zoology, carnivore zoology, herpetology, and wildlife conservation, as well as my certificate in animal studies and my cert IV in veterinary nursing. Fun fact, I've also completed my venomous snake handling and relocation course.
I grew up on a farm and have always loved animals. After moving out of home, I got married to a great guy. Three small humans joined our family and I studied my heart out during this time. When our third was a couple of months old, I started working nights at an emergency vet while I completed my cert IV, so I didn't have to leave her during the day. After completing my nursing, we then moved our 3 kids back out to the country to a beautiful 5 acre farm. I started a second job here at Pinjarra, and the rest is history.
We have 2 border collies, a cat, and a bunch of rowdy hens, and plan to get horses once our farm is set up. I'm very set on a couple of miniature highland cows too, but we will wait till we have a larger block for that.

Trainee Veterinary Nurse
I joined the team at Pinjarra vets in 2023 as a trainee veterinary nurse. I love working in such a fun, dynamic and supportive environment. My favourite part about my job is never knowing what you are going to get!
I’ve always believed the best pets are the ones you just end up with, whether it be for a carton of beer or a street stray. I share my home with an Australian Kelpie (Ellie), a terrier mix (Chip), Pink and Grey Galah (Bazza) and a little family of quail.
In addition to veterinary nursing, I have a Bachelor of Science in Conservation and Wildlife Biology and have Primary credentialing as an Infection Control Professional through the Australasian College of Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC). I also have qualifications and several years of experience in pathology and phlebotomy in the human world as well as wildlife rehabilitation, having held a position on the Board of Directors as the Vice Chairperson for some years. I have a keen interest in the aetiology of wildlife health and the One Health system.
